Shooting session not AS pricey this time!
Alrighty, I got out there yesterday to shoot again, conditions weren't the best b/c of a little wind, but we got out there anyhow (season opens Saturday)If you read my other post you know that my last session was pretty pricey and had no grouping to speak of with my Encore, BH209, and 250gr superglide Shockwaves.
well the combo was the same except I shot some 200gr normal shockwaves the the stock T/C sabots. Started by fowling the barrel with 30gr of powder and the shots go as this:
50yds, 3shot group, about 1/2in right and dead on elevation. Group was about a 3/4in group.
100yds, 3shot group. and all 3 were dead on the money, first shot was a little bit right, but there was some gusty winds going on. Group was about 1.5in group. Im not the best marksman around,so that kind of grouping suits me all day long for killing deer.
A large part of me wanted to shoot a group with 110gr of powder, but my wallet is wearing thin and I didn't want to shoot up all that gold priced BH209. Aint it amazing what a change in bullet will make? Anyhow Im now ready for the whitetails.
