Optima vs. Acura

For about the same money, if you were going to get a new ML, would you get an Acura in blue/black, or would you get an Optima Pro in camo/ss? Or would you maybe save 50-75 bucks and get a Remington Genesis?

Just wondering, as I might be in this position.

Remington would be far down on my list.

Accura if you dont mind the blue/black.

I have the optima with camo/nickel but if i had the funds, Accura would be hanging on my wall.

Out of those 3 choices I would take the Genesis. I have one and have killed more deer with it in the last 3 years than any other gun. I just passed it on to my wife. Remington and CVA both have Spanish barrels but the Remington I think is a better choice, All the CVA fans will loudly disagree . I have a CVA Kodiak pro also in a 45 cal. so I'm not against CVA ( not completely LOL.)

Remington is farther down my list. I think it feels the best of the threeto shoulder, but I haven't heard much good about quality of materials or accuracy.

As for the Acura, I don't know if I'm a real big fan of the blue/black, but then it's starting to grow on me the more I look at it. And I think it would look real nice with my Tru Glo globe sights on it.

But, I think the Optima pro in camo/stainless is about the same price. Is there really that much of a difference between the Optima and Acura?

If you can get the optima pro with the new bergara barrel then i say go for it.

With the accura you can save a little money and upgrade to the thumb hole stock later on and have a sharp lookin rifle.

I love the look of the Accura but it will NEVER replace my Encore

RE: Optima vs. Acura

I'm honestly not sure right now. I think I have probably ruled out the Optima, just because for the money, why not get an Accura. What I'm not sure about is if it's better to get the Accura and spend the extra money, or save about $100 and get the Remington. I know Cabelas has pretty much all Remingtons regardless of finish (except thumbhole stocks) on sale for $235. I'm really quite torn at the moment. What does one look for to make the final determination for which one is best?

Chetmarks, why do you recommend the Remington over the CVA?

Thanks for the help guys.

I've owned (actually own)both the Accura and the Genesis. Accura +++

The only place I would give the Genesis a somewhat better rating (and this would be subject toindividual taste and fit) would be the shape of the buttstock).

Finish on the Genesis "receiver" section is pathetic at best. The internals of the Genesis seem flimsy to me. Triggers on the Genesis can range from good to toy cap gun quality and there just isn't much you can do about it. So far, everyone is reporting positivelyon the Accura trigger.

For about $170 after rebate though, the Genesis in SS/Black isn't such a bad deal. If the difference in money isn't the determining factor - get the Accura!
