Default Finally got more shooting with the Mustang

Today I finally got to try out some more loads in the Lyman Mustang 50 cal..All shooting at 100 yards and only 3 shot groups...All loads with 90 grains of Goex 2F powder and with Win 209 primers..My data is out in the shop but the number 1 target is with Hornady Great Plains 385 grain..HB-HP

#2- IS THE 300 gr. Shock Wave which I noticed loaded harder han the others..

#3- Is the 260 gr. Dead Center Bullets

How do you guys do that thing where you print the load data right on the picture?????

I use a program like Paint Shop Pro where I can edit the pictures, apply text, fix shadows, etc and then reduce them to a size where they make them easier to handle and view.

I would have suspected the Dead Center as being the best. What loads do you find the rifle likes best? Or are you still playing with the rifle and scope, etc...

Dave,

From what it showed today,I think the best bullets tried at 100 yds
was the Hornady Great Plains and or the Shock waves with the same
charge of 90 gr.of 2 F Goex...I will have to do some more shooting
to really get a good feel...And I like the Nixon scope you suggested...

I also feel the Shock Waves gave a tighter seal than the Dead Center
therefore alowing the gases to blow by..I was really quit surprised the
Great Plains shot as good...Seemed like the heavier the bullet, the better
they shot..

Hey Johnny, you've probably seen this target in one of my earlier posts, but it's a load you've got to try.

120 grains GOEX, 300 grain Gold Dot, crush rib sabot. It doesn't always shoot 1" for me - but never more than 2".
