OT Crossbow Buck / Video Added

I killed a buck this morning

About 7:00 I saw a doe moving to my left but had no shot,She was being followed by a small rack buck, still no shot.
They both disappeared and a few minutes later the buck came out in my shooting lane.
He was oblivious to the blind.
I use a primos trigger stick and leveled the crosshairs on him.
He was quartering to me.The G5 Montec hit him right behind the left shoulder went all the way through and exited about 10" behind theright shoulder.
The shot was 25 - 27 yards and the deer went 25 - 35 yards.
He is a six point

I was hunting out of a Doghouse Ground Blind

If you look at the picture the deers eyes have some sort of skin problem and swelling around them.
He has the same growths on his chin and over most of his body.
I called the Game Warden and they took the deer for testing but I kept the rack.
I dont know which looks worse him or me!

I was shooting an Excalibur Equinox
Boo string
Groundpounder quiver mount
G5 Montec

Congrats!

Dang! I wish I could started hunting... October 10 - it is coming but it is coming very slowly....

Since you harvested this deer - do you still have a tag for ML season? When is ML season?

It did freeze here this morning - that will help get the elk bugling...

Well, first you have to tell us which is which. :D

Great first hunt of the season. Congratulations.

One of the guys killed a big wart covered doe on our lease two years ago. It was a harmless fibrona skin disease caused by a virus. The biologist said themeat was fine, but no one wanted it.

Congratulations on the deer. I agree. If there is a possibility of the animal being contaminated, then let them have it for testing. Although deer meat is one of my favorites. Especially when I make Venison Salami... :D

Chap
