Default How Good Are Winchester 209 Primers

I bought Winchester 209 primers this year and have not used them before and wonder how good they are.I used to use CCI but they did not have them.Any feedback on them would be great or on a 209 primer that you have had success with using before.Just want to make sure I am shooting a reliable primer. Thanks Alot! Mike

I have reloaded over a thousand shot shells with Winchester 209 primers and I have had no problems with them. They also work fine in my Wolverine 209 igniting Blackhorn 209.

If they are the Winchester W209 in the blue box.. they are great primers. I use them all the time. I do not like the Winchester 209 made for muzzlelaoder primers. They are a little too hot for some of my rifles.

I use Winchester primers in my Omega. They seem hotter than the CCI, but both are good. Never had one fail.

Great primer! but it all depends on the type of powder your using?
If your using the new Blackhorn 209 then thats fine.
If your using pellets or T7 powderor any other subsitute then you may wanna go to a less pressure primer like the Winchester Tripple 7, fiocci 209 even a 25 ACP conversion made buy Precision .

Ya - What hrly69 said! Excess pressure on the load/sabot can causeinconsistant accuracy.
