conicals in a .45
I was reading on the precision rifle website that .45's shoot conicals better than the bigger bores. Do you guys agree with that? I bought a .45 cva kodiak for my better half but after shooting it I might make it my own. I only have til october to find a good load for this gun and I thought about going with conicals. Do you think they will do well on deer and if so any brands you can recomend? oh by the way here is a link to the website i was reading.http://www.prbullet.com/ul45.htm

RE: conicals in a .45
I own an 45cal win apex. it is liking 275gr 45cal powerbelts with 80grs of pyro rs. that has enough to get it out 100yrds. recoil is not all that bad.
being an cva it is a powerbelt shooter. the kodiak will also shoot a wide variety of conicals. The big heavy .45 slug is found to be more consistent edit: had some more info that I had to find |
RE: conicals in a .45
You might want to try a Lee .457-340F mold and size to bore (probably .451 or very close). Those shot great from my .45 Disc Elite with its 30" twist.
