200Gr Sabots
I just purchased a Pursuit II XLT. I had been using a CVA Hunter(Cap) w/ 100gr of Pyrodex 50/50 TC Shockwave 200gr. I will be switching to T7 in the XLT. I'm wondering if the 200gr will be too light. Planning on starting with T7100gr 50/50 and the 200gr. I realize I might have to try different loads has anybody else used similar loads. I'd prefer to stay under 250gr.The CVA @ 100yds was grouping around 1 1/2".
My hunting is strictly limited to whitetails with most shots inside of 100yds and occasional open farm country shots to 200yds. Are there any other concerns with lighter Sabots? |
RE: 200Gr Sabots
Not at all most guys are shooting 100 - 120gr of 777 or Bh209 with the 200gr shockwaves.:)

RE: 200Gr Sabots
XSV
I have had good luck with the 50/40. I recommend the SW which comes with the MMP sabot and the 200gr 40 cal XTP which you can buy in bulk I also suggest getting some 50/40 crush rib sabots from harvestor and trying the with both bullets. I use 110BH and the SW and 90gr BH and the XTP my self in the Omega and the Triumph, but the Triumph likes the Harvester sabot and the Omega likes the Crush Rib. Lee |
