-for me at least. I shot some last weekend w/open sights trying to get ready for elk season. I don't consider myself the best marksman so this was about as good as I think I could do. I've shot these size groups w/scopes before but never open sights before. Measures 1 1/8 CTC

That is a very impressive group you have there. And with that load, an elk might not want to get too close to you. Great bullet, excellent powder. Put that conical in the right place and you better have a skinning knife.. Very nice shooting!!!

She's on now ;) At that point I was just shooting trying to get used to the sight picture-that's a long ways w/open sights... I can't wait to see what they do on elk. Lord willin' I'll have a field report when I get back.

Nice group, I would be hard pressed to even see that target at 100 yds. I'd be aiming for center of paper. I prefer shooting at 3" black dot (fiber optics) or 3" orange dot (std iron sights).
