HORNADY FPB
Has anyone shot the new Hornady FPB's yet? I searched the forum and my search came up empty. I was at Wal Mart today and picked up a pkg. of 15.
The weekend is over, so I'll have to wait until next weekend to try them. ![]() |
RE: HORNADY FPB
Yes people have been shooting them. Some early reports are they are pretty good. I saw them at Wal Mart but refused to buy them. They were too expensive, and I have to many other things to shoot.

RE: HORNADY FPB
I really like them. I've shot them out of my KRB. In my gun, with open sights they'll do 2" at 100 yd with 100 gr. of T-7. My buddy gets about the same out of his Omega. They are very consistant and don't give me fliers. With their noses cut off, they'll be coming with me on my elkhunting trip to Colorado next week.

RE: HORNADY FPB
It is what I am taking to Colorado too. They shoot pretty well out of my Omega and KRB, but the Omega with BH 209 got the nod, the KRB is going as backup. I am getting sub 3" groups out of them at 100 yards with open sights.

RE: HORNADY FPB
I shot groups with them in the Omega and the Triumph, no problem getting decent groups average a bit over an inch but they shot quit low off the Omega and about 4 inches low on the Triumph. I jumped the charge to 110 gr BH209 which brought them close to the sights and the groups opened a little, They shot under an inch with 90 gr BH but would have to change the sights about 14 inches from where the sabot loads impact. RE: HORNADY FPB
I got decent groups with them out of my White Umag, around 1.5" at 100 using a peep sight. I was shooting 110gr of 3F 777 and was getting around 1700fps. I plan on using them for my NM elk hunt next month. I got lucky and found some at a small gun shop in MA. I got 4 packs for just under $60 including tax. If these hadn't shot so well I would be using NE's or Bull Shop 460's.

RE: HORNADY FPB
It sounds like everyone is pretty happy with the accuracy....that's good to hear:D I'm really looking forward to giving these a try.
Are they fairly easy to load going down the barrel, like the Power Belts? |
RE: HORNADY FPB
I can feel them cut into the rifling of my knight. have not tried them in anything else yet. so pretty easily in that gun.
