Got My New Barnes Bullets Today
I Got My New Barnes Bullets Today. They came in two days from MidwayUSA regular ground UPS, that is quick. I ordered two packs of bullets, the 50 cal Barnes Expander Spit-Fire T-EZ and the 50 calBarnes Expander MZ. I will be patterning them in a T/C Triumph and my NEF Sidekick. The T/C Triumph will shoot them first asI am waiting on a new style breech plug for the NEF Side Kick.I will post pictures of the groups as I get them, should have something to post sometimethis weekend.

Barnes are great bullets. Expensive, but great bullets. I shoot them in my Knight rifles.

Good luck with the Expamder MZ's. I use those for hunting. They shoot great out of both my CVA Wolf and Knight KRB. Although I switched out the sabots for Crushed Rib sabots.

Saxman, tell your buddy to get the T/C Triumph, you can get them new for $350 in Blue these days. The Sidekick was a gift from my Dad, it shoots good but it has limitations on what you can do with it, due to the plastic primer holders. I am working on getting a custom breech plug to hold the 209 primers right now.
The T/C triumph is actually my girls gun, lknhuntress. It was getting late last night but she managed to get one shot off from 65 Yards with a 50 cal. Barnes T-EZ bullet. She smacked the bullseye, I was watching along with two of her two cousins, they were quite impressed. She asked if we wanted to try a shot and we all said "No Thanks" we could only look bad compared to her shot. It was pretty funny, thankfully it was getting dark. Take a look. We should be getting out to try and see how they group today. I see a lot of people referring to the crushed rib sabot, what is the benefit of it and where can I get them? This Shot Was 65 Yards 100 gr American Pioneer (2) Pellets, Barnes Spit Fire T-EZ Bullet |

Results for the T/C Triumph, 100 grains American Pioneer (2) Pellets, Barnes Spitfire T-EZ 250 grain bullet, 100 Yards 1.5" 3 shot group. I will check into the Harvester Black Crushed rib sabots to help make loading easier.

RE: Got My New Barnes Bullets Today
How hard are they loading now? From the looks of that group I'm not sure I would change a thing.

RE: Got My New Barnes Bullets Today
Well, they do load pretty hard for lknhuntress and it is her gun, so I will give the crushed rib sabots a try and compare the groupI get. Right nowI am very happy with the performance of the Barnes Spitfire T-EZ Bullets with their Sabots. The trigger pull on the Triumph is just right,I think that helps the accuracy as well. For shooting, I used a support under the forend of the gun, a card table and sat on a five gallon bucket. LKNCHOPPERS

lknhuntress
Get a can of black horn 209 for that Triumph when you get a chance, its cleaner and about 400 or fps faster and it groups much more consistantly than APP, I used to shoot APP. Lee |
RE: Got My New Barnes Bullets Today
Those spitfires have the boattail base so I don't think you are suppose to use the crush rib sabots with them. The Expanders should be straight down to the base so the crush ribs would be fine with them.
Best wishes, Art |

Yeah we are shooting the Spit Fire T-EZ and it is not a boat tail. It's new from Barnes, polymer tip but no Boat tail.
