Do TC presaturated #13 patches go bad?

Yuk! I bought some last fall and unscrewed the top this past weekend and was blown away by the smell. So my next question, is what is the windex trick that some of you veterans on the board use? Soak dry patches in windex and use to clean and then use a good oil to lube for longer storage?

I'm not very good with the search function....thanks for the help.

The Windex trick is carry a small spray bottle of it with you to the range. Then Spritz a dry patch damp with the spray bottle and swab the bore. After that two dry patches and you're all set to go again.

I had some T/C patches go bad on me too. Part of them even turned black. And that smell you wrote about would have knocked a buzzard of a manure wagon. It was bad!!!

I used to do that stuff before I switched to BH209. Now I clean the gun when I am done shoting in about 3 minutes right at the range. Lee

I read some where that you guys use 91% alcohol as well.

Do you add some to the windex or use it by itself?

You can mix it 50/50 91% alcohol and car windshield washer fluid and it makes a good swab.
