and remember...
:Dps: the above does not show the overlap method and incorporates the use of a small touch of ONE grease. But the warning is clear. :D |
RE: Plug grease?
I've been applying pink teflon tape since I read about it from Sabotloader.Finding the correct tightnes to wrap with became key.Be sure to start at rear of plug an work forward, overlapping about one third to one quarter.I also use just aLITTLE slick 50 around the tape for ease of plug installation.I agree with Sabotloader that my blow back all but vanished. The seal is so much better it seems.I also no longer back plug out every 6-8 shots as I once did.Have had zero trouble with seized plugs since going this route.Give it a try.Works great for me.BTW,..I use in an Omega and a KRB7.Hopeing to help ya,...hunt4me

RE: Plug grease?
I tried the tape today. I can report that it did significantly cut down on the blowback. I only took a few shots because I was worried about the breech plug sticking. My tape did not remain on the plug when I removed it like yours did sabotloader, maybe I did not round off the sharp edges on the threads enough because they seemed to cut the tape up.
One thing did occur to me though, and I would like to hear your opinion. If the key to the tape preventing blowbackis the seal where the breach plug meets the barrel, what would happen if a person used a sort of a gasket in this area? I am thinking of something like a o-ring shaped gasket cut out of that cardboard gasket material you get at an auto parts store or some other material I haven't thought of yet. All opinions welcome. Thanks, Art |

Remember, my main key is after installation - to look down the barrel and make sure that you see tape all the way around the face of the BP. i wish I could get a good picture of it to post. just some thoughts... |
