Buffalo Ball-ets
Other than the weight difference between the 50 cal Maxi Ball-ets and the the regular Ball-ets (270 HP/245 RN gr), how are their on game (deer) performance? Why the hollow point on the 270 gr bullet?
If I can get them to shoot well out of my GPR I might use them this fall for deer. I've shot the 245 gr with 70 gr 3f Goex and they grouped well at 25 yds. I plan to shoot both tomorrow. Does anyone have any pet loads for these two? Thanks, HA |
RE: Buffalo Ball-ets
I have a friend that hunts whitetail with the buffalo ball-ets out of his Wolverine every year. They must work because he gets a deer and his kid also gets a deer.

Thanks Dave,
Is the Wolverine a 1:48 twist? |
RE: Buffalo Ball-ets
The Wolverine has a 1-28 twist... I have shot ball-ets out of the 1-48 twist rifles with acceptable accuracy.. Nothing to write home about, but plenty good to hunt with.

RE: Buffalo Ball-ets
I shoot the ball-ets out of my 1:48 renegades and 1:48 missouri rifle with 80 grains of FFg goex.Like Dave said, the accuracy is plenty good for hunting, but I haven't taken any game with them. Hopefully this fall.
I have four and a half packs of them left. Found a place with four packages for $8 each and I cleaned them out.I was atRMCover the weekend and they had themfor $18 a box. They had 24 boxes in .50, but I have enough for now and won't be paying that price any time soon. They are getting harder to find though. |
RE: Buffalo Ball-ets
Much cheaper to get a mold and pour your own. Lee
