Nipple size

I was just wondering about Nipple thread size. I have an Italian 50 Cal Hawken, no name on it just a large capitol letter I inside a square box stamped on the barrel. I am out of town and saw a nipple that uses a hand gun primer and the thread size is 6.1 mm. Was wondering if it would fit. I hate to spend $20 and it not fit. Any help would be appretiated. Thanks.

6x.75 are for the Italian jobs normally. 6x1 are for the CVA and the Traditions rifles... They are spanish. 1/4-28 are the Thompson Center, Knightand Green Mountain rifles..

Thanks, I thought I tried a 6.1mm before and it didn't work just couldn't remember. I see you are from Wisconsin. The weather is beautiful in WI now as compared to the souths hot temps.I had to come to Ft McCoy for the week, beautiful country.

Ditto. The "I" stands for Investarms/Lyman and those douse 6 X .75 nipples.

Thanks, I never new who made it. It was given to me about 15yrs ago. Shoots great.
