RE: primers and caps.. interesting info
IMHO; RWS are the only #11 that are consistent, hot or cold! In the late 70s a coworker gave me some Dixie hot caps to use, said they were "the" ones to use. Went out one a.m. about 10degs out, popped a cap before loading, dixie went ffft!! Dug out the good ol rws = POP!! Been using them ever since! Just bought 2 tins today!!

ORIGINAL: cayugad That Triple Se7en Winchester primer is really light compared to the others... very interesting as I shoot Winchester W209 for most or the Remington Kleenbore when I can get them on sale. I beleive that theTriple seven primers were designed to be lighter to help offset the crud ring that comes with using triple seven powder. Also, some studies have shown that a "less hot" primer is often aids in accuracy(especially in inlines) |
