Anybody try these?

I know you shouldn't need them if your sabot fits tight enough, but if you have a small amount of pressure getting past the sabot they might help?

They are made for the very high velocity loads like found in the Savage. My understanding is they really will not help you much in a standard muzzleloader load. I have some, have used them and there was no improvement, but then I never shoot a magnum load.

Where they really might be beneficial is with BH-209. When shooting BH you really need a good gas seal - they certainly could provide that.

I have tried them with several different powders and with the snug fitting sabots [MMP_HPH I could not tell any difference. I resd in one of the professional magazines that the best use for them was in loads of smokeless that were to hot for the sabot. Since I do not normally use much smokeless except in reloading metalic cartridges I can not say if that is true or not. Lee
