RE: Oh Yea! Uh-Huh!! Shooting BH Tomorrow!!!
If there's anything that really bugs me, it's that dang dour, negative attitude. HAVE FUN! Glad you're about mended.
Please, please, please don't come back with a glowing report on BH. I don't wantto have to buy the stuff.
(By the way, I know where you can get some powder tubes to put your weighed charges in. )

LaneNebraska,Good for you gald to hear your back to normal. a few things that might interest you, clean the breach plug the longer lower pressure peak causes it to carbon up right in front of the 209, on TC's a .125 drill with any kind of hand turner does it neatly. I have learned to put the first two shots into the hill if the gun has been cleaned before group shooting, it really is noncorosive I will be shooting mine before deer season and clean it after the christmass season. I have done a bit of work on it the pressure runs about the same as something else we experimented with but the velocity will shock you. Lee

OK
I'm back, And BH209 is Amazing
And remember, I'm just shooting off some folding tables I got from Wally World....
45cal SS Disc Elite with NFPJ and FPJ. 200g SST's and ShockWaves and some 180g 40cal Gold Dots. Hot and Humid, 93 degrees
Started out with 150g BH209 and took 3 shots with NFPJ
I just wanted to see if the 200g SST would be stabilized, and not keyhole.......It was stable at 2610fps. Then my battery died on the chrony, so had to replace it[&:] But I only got to chrony the one shot of 150g BH209 [&:]
Chrony Results for 200g SST in MMP Tan Sabot with BH209, NFPJ:
150gV, 108gW = 2610fps
130gV, 93.6gW = 2450fps (180g Gold Dot = 2487)
120gV, 86.5gW = 2354fps (FPJ = 2295fps)
200g ShockWaves------110gV, 80gW = 2223fps
90gV, 65gW = 1962fps
275g PowerBelts, FPJ, 100gV, 72gW = 1930fps
50gV, 36gW = 1504fps
300g Platinum PowerBelt, 50gV, 36gW = 1300fps
60gV, 43gW = 1500fps
NFPJ, 36cal, 70g Round Ball in MMP 40/357cal sabot. 30gV, 21.6gW = 1282fps
Here are some targets, all shots at 120 Yards:
So now I'm really pooped

RE: Oh Yea! Uh-Huh!! Shooting BH Tomorrow!!!
I believe I DISTINCTLY requested that you not come back with glowing reports on BH. [:-]
I'm just thankful you can't use that BlackMail, uh, BlackHorn stuff in sidelocks. If I end up having to buy some for my one in-line it won't break the bank. I have to admit those velocities are impressive. But, I'm still holding out for now.

Wow 2600 that is impressive. Man I would stick with those 200g SW at 110g, they look think they are really shooting well in your gun, 2200 is not too bad for a 45 MLer.

Semi
I FINALLY get a chance to do MY homework, and you are not pleased
Thanks guys!
Chap, that ShockWave with the supplied Green sabot is the tightest fitting of the bunch. I can't wait for some COOLER weather, so I can realy wring out some performance with BH209
That first target, dead center, there is actually 4 bullets in that group, 120g BH and SST's! This powder is Extremely consistant.

Good shooting, Do you think we need smokeless now? You will find some interesting things out when yo get to working with it, theres lots some of us are not saying much about, dont want to creat no shortages for the first hunting season. Maybe we will do some PM after some more testing, believe it or not I bought over a case of the stuff and am down to 7 cans. Lee
