RE: Muzzleloader shipping to California
Yes, even a black powder revolver can be shipped to California without an FFL.
It's my understanding that Californialaw doesn't consider a BPrevolver a "non-firearm" for carry purposes, but just for purchase purposes. California has the standard type of exemption lawregarding antique guns andreproductions: (b) Subdivision (a) does not apply to any of thefollowing:..... .....(5) Any antique firearm. For purposes of thissection, "antique firearm" means any firearm notdesigned or redesigned for using rimfire orconventional center fire ignition with fixed ammunitionand manufactured in or before 1898 (including anymatchlock, flintlock, percussion cap, or similar type ofignition system or replica thereof, whether actuallymanufactured before or after the year 1898) and alsoany firearm using fixed ammunition manufactured in orbefore 1898, for which ammunition is no longermanufactured in the United States and is not readily available in the ordinary channels of commercial trade. http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/dwcl/dwc.pdf |
