Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
Lost my breech plug for a Knight Master Hunter II. Was wondering if anyone has one they want to get rid of. I'd also consider a conversion kit if anyone has one of those available.
Thanks Tom |
RE: Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
You can purchase breech plugs from Knight and from different on line stores. Send Knight a email or phone them and ask them which breech plug you would need. You might want to get one that would be able to shoot the new Blackhorn 209 powder at that time...
just a thought.. |
RE: Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
Cayugad,
What is the new Blackhorn 209 powder? I was hoping someone has one sitting around. The shipping is half the cost of the dag gum breech plug. TT |
RE: Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
I know what you mean about shipping.. I no longer order unless it is going to be over $100.00 then you seem to not mind the shipping so much. Although where I live, and time I have to drive to the city cost me a lot more then shipping anything to the house...
Perhaps someone does have one laying around... good luck in your search. |
RE: Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
Cayugad,
Is the Blackhorn 209 really all it's cracked up to be. I did some research on it. I remember when Shockey's Gold came out they claimed all this wonderful stuff and eventually folks reported back that it wasn't the most amazing thing to ever happen to muzzloading. Does it eliminate the crud ring? I've been thinking about switching to powder. Maybe this is a good opportunity. As far as the interaction of the breech plug, what kind of plug am I going to need to make it work with this stuff? I also have a TC Omega, will the breech plug on the Omega work with Blackhorn 209? Thanks Tom |
RE: Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
Hope this helps
http://www.hpmuzzleloading.com/Technical6.html I shot bh 209 in my omega and the ignnition was great. Not really sold on the (last shot loading as smooth as the first) but it does come close to 777 as far as velocities go. POI almost identical. |
RE: Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
The breech plug for your master hunter should be the same as the plug for the disc extreme. If you want the non full plastic jacket conversion I think midsouth has them pretty reasonably priced. Shipping charges seem high but, when you figure it costs about 60 cents a mile to drive, it is generally cheaper to have something delivered. As far as the bh 209, some people report good successwith the standard breech plug while others like the conversion better. I bought a jug of it but haven't had a chance to try it yet.Good luck, Art

RE: Knight Master Hunter II Breech Plug/Conversion
Flounder,
Is there another conversion for my knight rifle that doesn't require a plastic primer holder? I'm not understanding you. The only conversion kit I know of is the conversion to the red discs. The only thing I'd be interested in for the BH209 is the crud ring. 777 pellets leave a terrible crud ring in my barrel. What is the concensus on the crud ring with BH209? Thanks to all Tom |

I think this should link you to the conversion you want...http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.co...ku=00061900044
I understand that this powder should eliminate the crud ring problem you get with the 777 but I don't have the personal experience with the powder to swear by it yet. Art |

Art This looks very promising. Can anybody confirm that this will fit in the Master Hunter? Also does it come with a tool to extract the breech pluch or am I going to need a deep socket and ratchet? Thanks for the tip. Glad a held off. Tom |
