KRB Cleaning question

Hey guys!

I love my KRB. My quetion is do most of you clean from the breech? If so, do you have a trick or technique to keep your patches from falling off the cleening jag as you try to thread the cleaning rod / patch under the receiver housing???
Has anyone found a ML, 50 cal. pointed tip cleaning jag? If so, where did you get it? I have found a Pro Shot .50 cal, tipped pistol jag w/ 8x32 thread vs the usual 10x32 thread on most ML accesories.
Thanks!

James

RE: KRB Cleaning question

I do clean from the breach with the barrel removed from the stock. I set the muzzle on a folded up shop towel ( barrel vertical) and give it 2-3 passes before changing the patch. With the muzzle resting on the towel ,the patch won't fall off and you can do as many passes as you want.
I don't know about a pointed jag. I use a .50 spinjag (http://www.spinjag.com/) for the KRB as well as my Lyman Trade Rifle. I've also used it on my .50 Kentucky pistol with great success.

Why do you need a pointed jag?
Just curious.;)

RE: KRB Cleaning question

I clean from the breach as well, but I do leave the barrel on the stock.I have the muzzle down and push the patch covered jag into the breach without much problem. I usually use fairly large cottonflannel patches. I don't have much problem with them falling off. I use the jag supplied with the gun.
