Hey FG, I notice that you have a wooden ramrod on your rifle. Is it one ofthoseindestructable ramrods or isit just plain wood.I don't like to use wood anymore because they break. I just don't want a ramrod going through my hand. That kind of pain I don't need.

Wood. The PRB and the Powerbelts are not difficult to load in this rifle and plus i grab 4-5" at a time and slowly ram the ball home.

Been there. It hurts. Especially when the only thing you have to sanitize the wound is BP cleaning solution.[:@]

It'sa wooden rod with a steel core. I thinkI willput it on my HawkinCarbine.

I have a composite ( looks and feels like ABS plastic) on my trade rifle, but that link you posted has me itching for a ramrod that looks right on the rifle. That black one looks out of place. That "period correct" ramrod would look nice on the Trade Rifle , especially after I finish puttin the brass tacks and roughout leather sling on it.
$35 for a custom rod. Pretty sweet.
