RE: GOD BLESS AMERICA
I can not even begin to thank the countless brave soldiers and support personal that suffered and gave their all, and those currently serving in the armed forces today,so Americans can live in the life style we do today. It is unfortunate that all to often in our modern day world, the real meaning of Memorial Day is forgotten. I had an opportunity a few years ago to talk to a young man at a Memorial Day gathering in town. I asked him what Memorial Day meant to him. He said it was a free day off from work. I was shocked. So I set him straight. Do not forget the meaning of this special day. It is not just a four day weekend or some extra overtime. Moina Michaelpoem: We cherish too, the Poppy red That grows on fields where valor led, It seems to signal to the skies That blood of heroes never dies. Bless all of them that are and have served. Keep them in your heart and your thoughts today. |

Could not be said better I sure like a man who is not lost for words ,but for those who serve there can never be enough thanks!!. I am proud of my father 1942 to 1946 Navy in the South Pacific. He says he is no hero I differ with him on that. |

God bless them all.
In Canada we celebrate our Veteran's, old and young on Nov 11. We recite a poem written by a WW 1 doctor. In Flanders Fields By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918) Canadian Army IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow Between the crosses row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. |
