gunsmith or back to TC
I got an scope base for my new englander and in needs some drilling and tapping to make it work. I know a really good gunsmith but sending back to TC would be about the same amount to have it done.
What should I do? |
RE: gunsmith or back to TC
Send it to TC. They screw it up, they'll replace the barrel do the work probably for free.
Shame on you for scoping the NE. I shall go ban your user name on my forum [8D] |
RE: gunsmith or back to TC
I gotta get the regular sight holes retapped any why, thinking of how the stock drops, a scope may not stay on long.
FG, you know that ya gotta play with something once. I need another scope for my sks anyway. ;) |
RE: gunsmith or back to TC
TC sent me a Email and said it was going to be 8 - 12 weeks on getting my Hawkins repaired
because they had shut down 2 shifts . it has been 3 weeks now. Ron |

Cory
The eight to twelve week turn around mentionedis a sign thatwhat I told you earlier and FG also recommends is correct. Do not scope the new englander! I know you have been having some difficulty with accuracy and scopes help with consistent point of aim, but have you considered a peep sight? RMC makes an open/peep hybrid sight, may be an option. Good luck with whatever route you choose. Cory wow that's weird beginning and ending this post with the same name. one of us needs a nickname. |
RE: gunsmith or back to TC
I still need to get the thread retapped where the open sight is. I was thinking of an peep also thinking of a front globe. if I had the metal work training I would make one like someone else did in here.
