A couple more can't hurt

I came across a deal on one of the forums.. I am kind of excited about shooting these guns..

This is a Knight MK86 12 gauge shotgun with the turkey choke. I want to use it to see how far I can bust a gobbler with it. I intend to throw a RED DOT on it next week, as soon as I can get some bases for it. Then I will go out and pattern the shotgun.

Then I picked up this...

It is a 50 caliber CVA Tracker Carbine with a 21 inch barrel. I checked the twist and suspect it to be 1-32 which should shoot some conicals. I also have a CVA Stalker Carbine so they look nice side by side. I want to see how well this little stalking rifle will shoot.

Don't set that red dot too far back or the scope will
get covered with soot. That is what happened on my
CVA 50 cal..After about 5 ot 7 shots it was hard to see through
worked out good though..Good luck with it..Nice lookin rifles there.

Nice looking guns Dave. Like the CVA but as you should know by now, I'm partial to traditionals. Hope they shoot well for you. I know you will find the right bullet/powder combo for them.

Looks like some nice rifles! I'm interested to hear how the shotgun shoots -be sure to keep us informed. I've always wondered about going with a BP shotgun for turkeys...

That Knight shotgun will do the job on a turkey, but the CVA is what catches my eye. ;)
If it's 1:32 I'll bet it will throw big chunks of lead very accurately! It's a very nice looking rifle, not real fancy, but very functional looking.

RE: A couple more can't hurt

I have not had a chance to even play with them.... I have company this weekend and my sister wanted some odd jobs done at her place today, so I went and got all of that done. Then I came home and saw the mail man had tried to deliver another rifle to me... Yes, that's right I got another one. Its a White .451 Model 97 with a stainless steel barrel. So I have to go to town monday and pick up thatrifle, but then I really do need to control my gun collection a little. I have all the guns I should ever want. Other then a couple custom made flintlock rifles. ...:eek: and ..... :D:D

Geez Dave, whats the count up to now? Must be several dozen just in muzzleloaders. You just can't lay off those deals can you?

Well I picked up the White M97 stainless steel, laminted stock, .451 caliber today at the post office. It is a beauty without a doubt.. I can not wait to shoot that.

Hey Dave- be sure and post some results of that white so I can see what I missed with this one. It is a good looking rifle and hopefully shoots good for ya. Kerry

I sure will .... I kind of got this the round about way through you and Indiana Smokepole, but I think it finallyfound a permanent home here. I will start it with 70 grains of Triple Se7en 3f and one of them big conicals and see what it will do. With a 1X scope it should make for an interesting rifle.

Congrats on the two nice guns. That Tracker looks like a nice gun. Wonder if they make/made a left hand version?

That is a good idea.. I can answer in dozens. So when they ask me how many rifles I have I can say, three or four, and just forget to say dozen. Thanks for the tip.... :D:D

Actually I have already got rid of a couple of the rifles around Christmas, and this week also. So all I have left is a couple custom ones in flintlocks to make my collection really complete.

Dave
you are going to need some one to cast bullets for you just so you can shoot them all.

I cast my own... and it is getting to that point. :D

That M97 is a nice looking MZ. I like the gray laminate stocks. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

That knight shotgun supposedly can throw some great patterns. That would be fun to shoot.

Remember Christmas comes every year so when you get those custom flintlocks I could sure use a stock flintlock from Uncle (Santa) Dave. :D
