Gentlemen,
I am very new here, but I thought you all might like to know about this.
About a month ago, I really messed up, and cross threaded the nipple socket on my T/C Hawken. This made the gun unsafe to fire, as I was getting blowback around the nipple.
I sent the barrel back to T/C, with a letter explaining the problem, and admitting that it is entirely my fault. I asked them to repair the barrel, or replace the breech block at my expense.
I recieved the package back from them today.
The work ticket reads, "replaced breech plug and blued." It looks to me like they actually replaced the barrel with a new one. No sign of any of the wear marks, dents, and dings it had when sent to them. It looks brand new and unfired.
To top it all off, they didn't charge me one cent, and covered the repair under warranty.
If anyone ever decides to buy a new muzzleloader, please keep this in mind. In my opinion, you will never find better customer service anywhere.

It is exactly that kind of customer service you described that makes me willing to pay a "little more" for a Thompson Center. I have a number of Thompson Center rifles. They have replaced one stock on a Renegade,which I cracked trying to get off a rock cliff the fast but hard way, They replaced a ramrod which I broke.. again, my fault. It was right after I bought my first rifle and that wooden rascal busted off when loading and went right into my paw... You want to know pain, that is it. Well I sent them a letter and a photo of my bloody paw holding the broken ramrod and asked to purchase a new one.. they sent me a brand new wooden ramrod that I still have to this day.. That's because I have never trusted a wooden one since. I get a non breakable one right away for all my rifles or load with a range rod and use the wooden one only as a last resort. They replaced the hammer on my flintlock because it was the old style.. and a lot of other small things like screws, etc.. never once have I been charged. So when I look at rifles for sale, and it says Thompson Center Arms on it, I am a lot more prone to purchase it if the deal is right...

Welcome YD. I've heard alot of reports like yours on T/C. To me good customer service is better than "ON SALE".

It was surprising to me also, the first time I ever sent TC a firearm. I just sent them a FL with stripped screw holes holding the Wedge pin. I think I was putting the wedge pin in WRONG, left to right, not right to left, and they gave me a new stock, new lock and all new HW, only the barrel was the same. I was astonished. I thought they would put some form of epoxy or plastic wood in there or a screw, but I never thought they would send a new stock, but they sent a new lock and all new HW also. I see whey they would do that, because the lock would have to be fitted, etc. Anyway, I am very happy and TC is excellent.

YES T/C DOSE HAVE AWSOME CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN BETTER GUNS!!! I HAVE A CVA WOLF .50CAL AND MY OL MAN HAS A T/C ENCORE STAINLESS WITH CAMO FOREND AND THUMBHOLE STOCK AN CAN OUT SHOOT MY WOLF OUT OVER 100 YARDS!!! WELL NOW THAT I HAVE MY WIFE INTO HUNTING SHE WANTS TO HUNT WITH MY WOLF SO THAT GIVES ME AN EXCUSE TO PURCHASE A T/C ENCORE IN THE FALL AND A LEUPOLD SCOPE !!!!!!! CANT WAIT TO DROP THAT FEAK NASTY WITH THE T/C SMOKE POLE IN THE FALL OF 2008

same great experience here. i had a rusted in snapped off nipple cause i use to only lube the threads up with bore butter.they fixed the problem and re-blued the barrel. it looked brand new again. TC is truely a great company.

LOL Im glad to hear they are good but I have yet to send one of my T/C mls back for anything...hopefully wont have to use it but its nice to know how good it is. Im not real sold on the encores but I do love me Hawkens.

I am one to say thumbs up for t/c I can't tell you some of the repair stories from metal to stocks always repaired or replaced with out a charge.

Good to hear that you gotthe Hawkinback so soon, and that they treated you so well, (no charge for the repair).:)
That's good to know in case I ever have to sendmy Hawken or Renegadein for repair. (Still haven't decided which one to keep. Like them both)
Sure enjoyed shooting your T/C when I was there. The downside is that it hasbecome "very" addictive.:eek:

Welcome, Both Yankeedoodle and lv2tinker.
There is a huge amount of wisdom here, and these guys aren't shy on sharing.
I am a novice to ML (only about 2 years now) and have learned a ton from these fellers.
Yank, that is phenomenol about T/C's customer service. I'd heard good things and that falls right in line .
