........this morning. Got to the farm where the landowner lets me hunt, trap, & fish (and we have a shooting range) and saw he had purchased all the material I had told him to get to install the electric service in his new garage. I used to do electric contracting along with my plumbing (and was an electrician in the navy), soI told him I would help him install the new service and help him wire the garage.
Saw all that stuff setting there and knew I would feel guilty if I went shooting knowing he wants to get the electric hooked up, so I mounted & wired the meter base & panel box so he can call for inspection and get it connected next week.
By the time I was finished I was too tired to go shooting today. [:'(]
Oh well, there's always tomorrow, and I know I'll be welcome to use the range. ;)

Sometimes an act of kindness is much more productive then a day on the range... I am sure there will be other days for shooting, with his blessing to boot... :D

When you put your hosts interest first it shows that he didn't make error in judgement allowing you access in the first place.I'm the same way.Drop off fish to landowners in the off season or help fix fence.Been hunting the same properties for 20+ years.............................Harold

Thats the way to do things. I've installed storm doors, a new entry door tothe garage, bought and installed new pipe for the wood stove in the garage where we sleep during hunting season. A person is good enough to let you hunt their land we need to take care of them. Last fall I also repacked bearings and installed new seals on a hay wagon for the guy that lives accross the road from my friend in Southern Illinois. He invited me tohunt his 48 acres that borders my friends 180. A little work sometimes pays big dividends!!
