RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
TC Omega- Sub MOA with 100 grains of 3f 777 and a 250 SW...also shot Sub MOA with 3 777 pellets and a 250 SW.
TC Encore Pro Hunter- 5/8" one hole group loaded with 3 JSG Sticks anda 300 Nosler. Knight Disc Extreme MHC- MOA loaded with 100 grains of 2f 777 and a knight/ Barnes 300 grain MZ EZ load sabot. Dollar for dollar the Omega will out shoot any muzzleloader out there... you very rarely hear of one not shooting MOA. I like my Knight but from what I have seen the TC's shoot tighter groups. |
RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
My knight bighorn was good with only a little work, bout 1 1/2-1 3/4" with nearly anything under 120g 777 or pyrodex.
My savage, even though as chap said you better have done your homework, will amaze me everytime.(My only sub 3/8" at 100yd group 4 shots) Most of the time 5/8"-7/8" for three shot groups. So I vote for knight if you wantto loada couplepellets and shoot, and savage if you want incredible results(with lots and lots of homework). |
RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
For a conical shooter it would have to be hands down the Ultra Mags which I traded to batcheif and sold the other one to Tenmilephenom and the White Lightnings (2) that I own now. For sabot shooter theres been several the Apex, Bighorn, Black Diamond, and the most accurate one yet the Laminated TH Omega. Havent had enough time to work with the KRB. The most disapointing one would have to be the Disc Extreme with SS fluted with MHC barrel. I also have a SS New England Sidekick on the way from Cabelas. I've heard these things are extremely accurate. We will see.

RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
I probably havn't thrown as much lead down range as most of you but my Knight disc. elite in .45 really shoots 250 gr hornady sst with 100 gr. 777 awesome, 1.5" at 100 yds.
I have a 28" green mountain barrel on a renegade that really likes 240 gr. xtps. in MMP green sabots and 90 gr. APP in 2f. Thinking about putting a scope on this one too and see what it will do. |
RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
All my MLs are traditionals. And as for the most accurate it's a toss up between my T/C Renegade 54 cal using PRB or my T/C Hawken with the Gm LRH 28" 50 cal barrel using 275 gr T/C Maxi-hunters. Both of these rifles can shoot better than I can shoot them. And on good days at 50 yds I've shot 5 shot groups where you couldn't distinguish one shot from the other because of the huge ragged hole in the target. Of course that's only on good days. There are days when I just can't seem to focus and shoot a bit larger groups. All you older guys know what I mean.

RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
TC Hawken .45 serial number 11111 - sucker shot great!
Nowadays, it would be hard to say as the guns I own are either accurate or soon gone. Even some of the accurate ones are soon gone. :D But I think I would have to give the overall win to my White UltraMag - sucker shoots great with sabots OR conicals... and maybe even small pebbles. ;) |

And it is a pig killer from what I have been reading. |
RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
MOst accurate I have ever shot are my Lyman Trade Rifle .50 perc w, open sights, and my Knight KRB, scoped.
Of course I should add that these are the only 2 MLs I have ever owned.:D The Trade Rifle really likes the REAL 320 grain . Still trying to find the right load combo with the No Excuses 460 grain. Still trying to pin down the sabot/bullet combo that the KRB will eat on a regular basis, but I'm in no hurry. I have until October to get it perfect. And I do love experimenting with new loads.;) |
RE: most accurate muzzleloader????
Thanks for all the answers so far. What I find interesting is that there is no real trend toward any one brand rifle. T/C accounts for a lot, but then there are a lot of T/Cs out there. Knight has a fair showing, and CVA & Lyman aren't left out. White, Savage, A&H,Winchester, and a couple others arementioned, but they aren't found in every gun shop so theyare not as well represented in the general shooting fraternity.About the only popular brand I see missing is Traditions, and from my experience that isn't too surprising. I've had a couple Traditions that were decent shooters, but far from outstanding.
