Big B Pa Hunter

I received the flintlock Pa Hunter With a stensled B on both sides of the stock. I know what the B stood for A female dog. The Lock needed work the flash pan need to be cleaned and was almost pitted. I finally got to the barrel today I cleaned for two hours until I got it bright and clean. I ordered a new Lock and frizzen from T C for 20.00 plus shipping. I wanted it for GM barrels but it sure took lots of work be sure you know what you bid on on used guns

While I have had real good luck with auctions.. you are so right about being careful what you bid on. Ask lots of questions. Ask specific questions about parts, etc. At least that way if the rifle is not what you expected, then you can return it..

I am sure with the new parts you will have a great shooter..

Well I got the new hammer and changed it now 3/4 of the frizzen is used tried 3 shots 3 instant bangs no hesitation 3 gr 4 ff center of pan agate flint. I think I have a keeper new peep sight on 21 inch 1/28 is perfect, clear and easy to see. I have a gun for my small blind and a walking gun. I just replaced the hammer not the frizzen now I have a spare.

I am glad to hear all of that came together so well... I think you will be very pleased with the way the rifle shoot... Try 90 grains of Goex 3f and a .430 300 grain Hornady XTP in a green crushed rib sabot out of that carbine. In mine, that is just an amazing load. For open sights, it is so accurate I guess I wonder what would happen with a scope on the rifle.

What kind of peep did you mount? And is it a tang model or a further down the barrel model? I also just bought a bunch of scope mounts for Hawkins barrels. I will have to see if one of them fits that carbine...

I had a wrgs for on of my sidekicks the barrel has a willams sight on it so I just replaced the green fiberoptic rear slide on with the peep slide on part and kept the original base so it is where is rear sight is. There is not as much space but comes up quick and nice and bright. I have been shooting 240 gr cast 44 and 60 gr of 2 f for practice I am going to go to 3 f and about 80 gr starting and my 300 gr cast 429 in a green sabot. I also want to try my 458 400 gr cast, both should have great knock down and cheap to shoot. I have some lead that is about 5% tin content don't like it for RB but makes good sabot bullets.

I know what you mean. I won a ml a few years back and it needed to be scrubbed and cleaned which I did. I think it looks better than new and one great shooter. The only problem was, it was shipped to me....... LOADED! [:-][:-]

Semi All you need is the upper part of a wrgs if the lower on your gun is a williams base

It has the TCfactory rear adjustable sight JM. Don't know who makes it. Is it anything like the Williams base?

johnmorris, what was your procedure for replacing that hammer? i just picked up a t/c penn. hunter which appears to have the old-style lock, but the new frizzen. flint hits halfway up on the frizzen, and takes a pretty deep gouge.

I just ordered a new hammer from Thompson Hammer is 10.95 plus shipping I alco got a frizzen but did not use it. I just removed the old hammer and installed the new one. It hits 3/4 of the way up the frizzen no misfires yet.
