295grain Lead Powerbelt

Checked the mail this morning and found a package from Lanenebraska. I ordered some powder tubes off him. They worked out perfectly!

Loaded up an assortment of powder charges and marked them. Went outside with the TC Hawken and down went 80 grains Pyrodex Select and an all lead 295g powerbelt HP.
First shot was perfect, right where i wanted it, Opened up the box "Used a big cardboard box filled with sand" and recovered the bullet. It went close to 7" into the wet sand.
What i got, wasnt good at all.

These Lead Powerbelts have to be loaded lightly.
Left bullet is 80 grains.
Bullet on the right is with 70 grains Pyro select.

I did not even bother with 90 and 100 grain charges.

58 yards.

0.6oz "digital scale" [:'(]

Same as an unshot 295 grain powerbelt.

Where can i get a cheap Scale to weigh powder/bullets? I need something so i can start weighing my powder charges. Every scale i find has been over $200 and thats a lot of money to spend just so i can weigh my charges :D

This one has a pretty good rating if you don't mind a manual scale. $71 and some change at Cabelas.

this is what I use, and it works excellent. I have no complaints, and it is portable so I can take it to the loading bench if I want....

I have a US MAGNUM scale I picked up off eBay for a very reasonable price (< $20. + shipping) that weighs up to 16 oz - 7000 grain - 500 gramand is accurate enough for archery & muzzleloading. Just compared it to my good digital scales and the results for a bullet that actually weighs 245.4 gr was 245 gr (it doesn't have tenths on it's scale).
The added capacity comes in handy for a lot of household chores. ;)
You can do a search for US MAGNUM SCALE on eBay and you should find it.

I bought one of these about 3 weeks ago, have not used it yet, but it is light. The only negative I think is that the battery provided looks like a "special battery", not an AAA or AA, and the special battery is usually costly and hard to get. Chap
