New DISC ELITE 50

I just found (and bought) a brand new DISC Elite 50. It's the blued version. I'm excited about owning a rifle that I have heard so much good about!! Shooting-wise, is the blued version and the stainless version of the Elite 50 comparable accuracy wise?

Yes the two are comparable in accuracy. IMO (for what it is worth) a stainless barrel is no more accurate then a blued version. The advantage of the stainless steel is in, spotting fowling buildup because of color of fowling VS barrel color, clean up ... again, I feel the stainless cleans off easier, but I think that is because you see the fowling disappear where sometimes with the blued version, your not 100% sure, so you keep cleaning, and the stainless is slower to rust. It is stain less, not will not stain, just stains or rusts at a slower pace. The old worry of game seeing a stainless barrel I never found true. Or a stainless barrel being stronger. If you use them to the specifications of the manufacturer, you can excellent expect results with either. Good luck with your rifle. It is a great rifle.

I got one too, Kevin. I am sure at the same place. Now I have the disc extreme MH barrel and the disc elite. My serial numbers are only 15 numbers apart. I kind of took a chance on the elite, I sold my bighorn which I knew was a great gun to buy the elite. I have heard nothing but good things about the elites. I still have my T/C Black Diamond with the short barrel for a brush gun. That seems to be super accurate too.
btw: My lovely wife thinks I am a little bit obsessed with black powder guns.
Kevin, I would sure like to compare notes with you on what is working good in our guns.

I'm obsessed too, Art. Have been for a while. I have a Savae ML2 that is as accurate as anything that I've ever shot. But it's like: that isn't enough....ya know what I mean? I like the challenge of load developing. Once I know what it shoots well, then I'm off on another tangent!:)
Yes I'll keep ya posted on results with the Elite. I ran into a snag. They called me back from the Ohio store and said that my card number was declined. I know I had 223 bucks in my account. And the $199 Elite plus $13.95 shipping would have put me in the safe zone BUT they charged me sales tax and that put me over the edge.[:@] My paycheck will get posted to my account tomorrow nite and I'll re-order tues morning. They are closed on Monday anyway, so there will be no delay. They have been real nice. I like dealing with them. I was embarrased when they told me that my card Debit card was turned down.

My Son has a stainless barrel Knight Disc Elite, he shoots 100g of loose 777, with 300g Nosler Partition HG, using a crushed rib sabot (same a I shoot in my Knight Disc Origonal--the orange disc). I bought him a Bushnell Elite 3x9 Firefly scope for it. I believe he bought Leoupold mounts, since he is partial to Leooupold scopes and knows their product lines really well. Excellent accuracy with that rifle. He killed 3 bucks with that rifle the first week of ML season last year, and 2 were boom flops and 1 went about 50 yards before expiring:

They are a really beautiful gun with excellent balance.

Another good bullet for that gun is the Knight Ultimate Slam and also the Knight Red Hots, both made by Barnes. They are excellent bullets. I really like a bolt ML gun and the Knight MH and LRH are both beautiful guns. Congratulations on your purchase. Chap Gleason
