Thompson/Center Arms

I got my neighbors gun out that I told yall about in my post entitled " help please" . Well, I called Thompson/Center Arms today and I asked about getting a replacement stock for it. They said that they didnt have any but they would put me through to " Fox Ridge Outfitters" who are their company and they might have been shipped extras that I could buy.
I got transfered and the lady said that she would go ask someone who might have a better idea than she did about the stocks. I waited on hold for about 5-6min. and then a lady got on and said that they didnt sell just a stock and if I wanted one that I just had to buy it with all the brass on it(wich I already have all of it but....) and it wouldnt be finished. I told her that I didnt mind it not being finished but I didnt need all of the brass and the lady I talked to at Thompson/Center Arms said yall might have some extras and she alerted me to the fact that they dont get extras cause they dont do any machining there anymore.
I asked how much it would be for the stock with the brass and she said, get this, $455.00[:-] I said WHAT. She told me that I could buy a whole kit with everything for $495.00 and that would make more sence.
That is rediculous to pay $455.00 for just a stock!

I went to the website and found the exact kit she talked about and it is $315.00+shipping=$327.95. Did I miss something?

I think I will call tomorrow and see if Im looking at the wrong thing or what but I think someone is lieing. If its the internet or its them but I want to make sure.
Any opinions?

Deerhunter, I would pack that rifle up and send it to T/C. They have a lifetime warranty and will replace it.I had a T/C Renegade with a cracked stock.T/C replaced it with a complete stock and all the hardware. A new rifle less the barrel and ram Rod.I' m really surprised that T/C is giving you the run around.I think T/C has one of the best warranties and customer service. I' ve dealt with them several times over the last 25 years or more and never had a problem. You did your part contacting them. Pack it up and let them cover it under their warranty.

Surprised me too. I got the gun from my neighbor. Her husband died about a year ago and she doesnt have any use for it, so she gave it to me without the stock. I dont have the broken stock. If I can get the warranty, do I need to send it too? Should I put my neighbors address on it?
Thanks.

If you have the old stock, you can send it all to T/C and see what they do.
Or you can watch on Ebay for a stock. You can usually get a pretty nice one on there for less than $100.

I have a Renegade and the stock cracked a number of years ago. I sent the entire rifle to Thompson Center and they replaced the stock free of charge and fit the rest of the rifle to the new one. I was impressed with that. I do not know what they would do about no having the stock. I wish you the best, you have a great rifle there. Although I might have a gunsmith check it out and make sure the bore is in good condition as is the rest of it before dropping a lot of money into it. I had a friend that gave me a " Traditions" with a cracked stock. Well I am fixing the stock, but the way he kept the gun, I doubt I would ever want to shoot it. Shame someone would treat a rifle like that....

Good luck

Deerhuntr107, You may have a problem getting a free replacement. In order to get a replacement you' ll have to send them the cracked stock.Since you don' t have it I haven' t any idea what they' ll do.Be honest with them and maybe they' ll make the replacement or sell you one at a discounted price. No need to give your neighbors name. There is no record with BP guns.T/C I' m sure will treat you fairly, they always have me.
