RE: tc white mtn carbine
I've had several of these over the years and have never seen one with a 24" barrel. All mine had 21" barrels with a 1:38 twist. All my TC catalogs show it with a 21" barrel and 1:38 twist. They make no mention of a 24" or longer barrel. Some of the early models had a 1:20 twist. They made the 1:38 twist for the maxiball, maxihunter and their breakaway sabots. Shot all three pretty good. If you got one with a 24" barrel it could be a special run or something not listed in their catalogs.

RE: tc white mtn carbine
The seller told mr 24" and I believed him. Shoulda measured. It is 21' as you say but the twist is 1/4 turn in 12" = 48" / turn. I check that out very carefully by marking off 12" on the ramrod with a longitudinal line between the points. Then I marked the barrel mouth and when i withdrew the ramron it had rotated exactly 1/4 turn. I just wish it would warm up so I could go out and shoot it.
