.452 Bullet In A .458 Sabot?
I saw a post in another forum by someone with a tight barrel asking about using .452 bullets in the orange sabot for .458 bullets. He said:
"I am fed up with having to put so much pressure to sit my saboted bullet in my muzzleloader that I took some mmp orange .458 sabot an put some .452 bullet in them and tried to seat them in my barrel..... Well what a suprise it had about 10 pound resistance but it was a pleasur no climbing on the ram rod to seat it...." Have any of you guys tried this combination? |

RE: .452 Bullet In A .458 Sabot?
I have used .458 bullets in a .452 sabot for a super tight fit in my savage. No way that shot good unless he had areally tight bore. My most accurate loads have always takem atleast 30 lbs pressure to get down the bore. Have tried sabots down to 15-20 lbs(ez load 3 petal, powerbelts)pressure and groups always opened wayyyupto 2 1/2 or 3"or more for me in my knight.
