Disc Extreme Suggestions

I took the new Extreme with the MHC barrel out today and put about 35-40 rounds through it. I used the 250 grn XTP's, 250grn sst's and the 300grn sst's. I used anywhere from 80-120grns of RS and T7ffg. Standard Win primer. Knight sabots, Crush Ribs, and the low drag sabots that come with the SST's. My best group from 50 yards on sandbags was about 2 to2 1/2 groups. Not terrible but I was expecting alot better. My new Omega with the Laminated TH stock first outing was stacking the shots on top of each other at 50 yards. I wont use the Barnes or Powerbelts because of the price. I shoot 2-3 times a week. 4 power scope was used. Any ideas especially with the XTP's, SST's or Gold Dots?

When I am shooting sabots in my Extremes I shoot the .430 300gr 44cal with the green crush rib sabots & 90gr 2fg 777 loose 1" - 1.25" @ 100yds but I have Sanded all the preshure pts of the stock that was putting presh. on the barrle and a thin shim under the barrle lug to float the barrle !

Seem to do a little bit better with lighter, but my best group was with 100grns of RS and 250 XTP.

I have the original Knight Disc, current load is 90grs Goex FFF or Pyrodex R-S and the 250 T/C Shockwave and their sabots, at 100 yards, it's more accurate than I am...

Previous to this loading, I used the 300gr Barnes MZ and 100 grains Goex or Pyrodex...

I have a MH and it shoot very well (consistantly < 1 MOA at 100m (110v)) with SST and XTP 250 on top of 90 to 140 grs of T7 FFFGbut with regular black sabot.

bdeather, try pushing a cotten wad through the bore and see if you have any burrs, sharp edges will also cause a bit of a problem sometimes check the sabot after you shoot for cuts. Sometimes they just take a bit of breaking in, should due better than that, mine shoots almost as good as the Omega. Lee

Shoot the rifle using only the irons (if you can use irons, I can't). I'm betting you have scope issues, whether mounts or the scope itself. If not, carefully inspect the crown and look for uniformity.

Since it is a new gun, I would shoot the exact bullet, load and sabot and primer that Knight recommends. Then you will know you have a shooter barrel or not. I think another good bullet for you to consider is the Harvester line of bullets:

They are resonable about $.50/bullet. I wanted the PT Gold to shoot well in my Savage, but it didn't. My brother uses the SabreTooth, 300g in an Encore and it does very well, easy to load, accurate and will not fragement on bone hits. Chap
