Powerbelts are one of the most common stocked. But i know how it is in Colorado and stores often do not carry but a couple of small choices. That and they jack the prices up during hunting season.

T/C maxiballs (not maxihunters), great plains, and buffalo bullets all have good reps as far as performance on game and are pretty readily available. Just find one that shoots accurately in your gun.
On the bullshops: do you guys use pure lead, antimonial alloy, or tin alloy? For elk hunting? |

pure lead only is what i use with a over the powder wad !

I tried going the 50cal Hornady 250gr SST ML, which is the red tipped copper slug with red sabot (not the TNTs).
They shot pretty good, but I wasn't happy with penetration on deer. What part of Indiana you from Indiana Smokepole? |
