Maxiballs and lube

I am going to get some cast 58cal maxiballs. I was wondering how good the maxiball is? Also, I want to use a lube that will work well but will kind of harden so it is not so messy in warm weather. Should I add some wax to bore butter or something? What do you all think?

RE: Maxiballs and lube

I use cayugad's lube recipe and for lubing my homecasts for my .45 cartridge shooter, I added a bit more beeswax and the lube hardened up nicely. Bore butter would probably do the same.

Here is my receipe 50 percent olive oil and 50 percent bees wax..
Seems to work ok. I know of others that use it as well...If you want
it harder then add more wax to it is all..I used to add a bit of
murphys oil soap to it..Made it smell nice...

I'll vouch for the maxiball's ability to kill deer. If they shoot well enough in your gun to suit your hunting, they'll kill whatever they hit.

sharp shooter; I killed about a half-dozen deer w/.50 cal maxis before I went to inlines. some shots as close as 20yds, shot em in the neck, boom flop. I think they would clang an elk also, if you can get the accuracy!
