sabotloader, Well my friend thinks it is; the company thats producing it wont say, he said when he ask all they would say was that itis not a nitrocelulose basedpowder. That doesnot mean that its not progressive burning, it acts a lot like it is from all I have been able to find out, and to be honest I hope it is that would mean that the buring rate would be more stable and the over all accuracy with in the load range where the powder works best would be more consistant. [less flyers]
Would you happened to know what the temp. and foot pounds of energy differance is between a mag small rifle primer and a209? Lee

Lee- looking at the pic of the powder I think just the size consistancy would make the burn rate quite uniform and consistant throught the whole container. How many of us noticed the setteling of finer particles-I never did. Maybe we should stir our 777? Gently???

I never really paid attension to the uniformity of the powder from the top of the can to the bottom-but I will now!!!!!!!!

ive noticed with pyrodex, at the bottom of the can, its mostly a fine powder dust. It gets used no matter what:D

I have noticed that if I want to group shoot for pics or record I best open a new can and get my shooting done before I use half; the bottom half will string up and down more and have a flyer once in a while and thats with evewry sub I have tried so its likely a combineation of fine powder and some moisture accumulation, what ever it is its annoying. One thing that i do which is the norm for me... when I get down to 1/2 jug and less I always roll the jug and tumble it gently before I load from it. That helps keep the fine mixed in with the general 2f powder. since I started doing that I see very little difference in velocity from the top of the jug to the bottom.

Why not turn the powder cans over 3 or 4 times to keep the powder mixed up. Just to keep things uniform?

I just weigh out all my loads on my 502 RCBS Balance Beam scales.

Works for me:)

Those are some good ideas. When I start shooting again this spring I'll have to remember these.

well it's not to be shipped out to dealers till late march. and i see a problem already, it's not yet been picked up by any wholesalers. that is trouble for dealers. another bad deal is that Hodgeon is not marketing it, nor does he want to. that's not a good sign. untill a wholesaler buys some dealers have to buy direct which means they have to buy a large amount. that's not a good gamble for a new product that has alot of questions to go with it.
