Thanks – I am not in a hurry to shoot it. I think I’ll do a lot of reading ans asking advice first. I think I will bed the recoil lug first it is loose in the stock. I bed my omega and had good results.

I would shoot it first before bedding it. Than you know what you got out of the box. Shot work well with 300g XTP, 44g 5744 (easy to ignite), black short mmp sabot and winchester 209a primer. Oh, cleaning the vent liner is a big deal, they foul after 25 shots NOT 100 as the manual says and as some folks say. That is another big boggie man. Chap

I just thought I would do a little bedding work before I put the scope on. I have all my tools out for bedding and I think I will just bed recoil lug and between the screws. I have a SS barrel and I am trying to decide on black or silver rings and scope. I bought some black Leupold mount but I might change my mind. I like to play with loads and bullets so it sounds like I'll have fun with the Savage ML.
