RE: my first cast bullets
What mold are you useing there?
|
RE: my first cast bullets
If you warm the mold by puting the bottom front cornors in melted lead or warming the bottom over the stove before you start it will help [now I did say warm that only about half the temo. of melted lead] and a small peice of bees wax syired in after the leads melted helps to; Be carful! make sure there is no moisture at all in the molds before you start to pour if there is it will turn to steam and spit melted lead all over. Do some work on the combine... |
RE: my first cast bullets
You are aware that you need a well vented area when melting lead....
Might want to wait until you have a nice day outside... Don't want you to end up like me.....[8D] |
RE: my first cast bullets
doing it in the kitchen under the vent there. I think if your anything like me, I am already there

RE: my first cast bullets
I gotta get a new hood vent system for the kitchen. I was fixxing me some lunch. boiling water had the hood on. it died. oh yeah, I put my camping stove and pot out side, and doing it out side, not much wind, a little cold but I see if I can get somemore bullets done.

Just checking to see if your still alive after your wife got home???:D:D:D:D
Got my new Lee pot yesterday..The 20 lb. model...Anxious to try it out..Wish it was a little warmer... |
RE: my first cast bullets
yeah, I'm alive, but in a chitty mood. I am thinking of selling about 60# of ww ingots, which is about all I don't have setting in a pot waiting to be made into bullets
|
RE: my first cast bullets
Why? What happened now? I have found that is is almost impossible to cast bullets outside
in cold or windy weather..It is hard to keep the temp. the same in the pot..I have used a gas burner for a long time and this is my first attempt with an electric melter..I do all of my casting in the garage if it aint too cold.. |
RE: my first cast bullets
lets say it is very personal, and nothing to do with any of my hobbies. :(
