Electric muzzleloaders banned in CO

Saw that the new hunting brochure for Colorado came out and they have banned the electonic ignition muzzleloaders for muzzy season. Evidently you can use them in the regular rifle season, but if you have them in a vehicle, you have to have them completely unloaded (including the barrel). Sounds like they want the want to send a clear signal!

Well this information does not surprise me. I kind of figured many States might not take the technology lightly. I do not have a problem with the State banning them. Although I personally do not see them as a threat to muzzleloader seasons. But then I am of the opinion that you hunt with what you want and I will hunt with what I want. I do not see an electric ignition muzzleloader in my future.

I shouldered one at Gander Mountain - just didn't like the feel of it (or the looks).

I am not too surprised either and personally kinda glad. I think using weapon technology from 50 years ago with a few small improvements is OK, but by design, the ML season is not about the latest and greatest. The benefit of hunting during the elk rut is enough for me.

But in the interest of full disclosure, I am also glad CO doesn't allow scopes or sabots either. The difference between the ML weapon and a high-powered weapon must always be enough to easily justify it's own season in CO IMO.

YMMV

The Electronic Ignition Muzzleloader = Truly the solution to a problem that does not (never did)exist.

Good! Electric ignition, smokeless powder: that's not muzzleloading-it is single shot shooting. Hopefully, Colorado will not go the way of Nebraska and allow scopes as that totally changes the situation. [:'(]

Lets hope they dont allow scopes. The last thing we need are guys running around like rambo making 300-400 yard shots. Its bad enough when rifle season comes around.
