Scoping a black powder rifle(cartridge)
 

I posted this on another place and didn't really get an
answer..I know this is for muzzleloader's,but I kind of
figured you guys could help me out here...My question-

How does one determin,where to mount the
scope base to get the right eye relief you want..??
The rifle in question is an Navy Arms rolling block
in 50-70 cal..It really has no major dollar value,so I
figure to scope it and use it for deer hunting...Plus
my 58 year old eyes are tired of the iron sights..

Mount the scope you intend to use in the base you intend to use. Shoulder the rifle and have someone hold the scop/base unit on top the barrel and slide it back and forth until it looks right to you. Then use masking tape or painters tape to tape the whole thing in place on the barrelso that you can put it down and shoulder it again a few times to see if it still looks right.

GUYS WITH WISDOM..I SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT MYSELF..
