Chrony data from yesterday. Mostly PR Bullets
Good day to shoot so I shot all day. He is the chronograph data. I shoot an Omega w/thumbhole laminate stock (Free Floating) QLA removed, 4x-12x Swift Premiere Scope, Lead Sled w 25lbs, 82 yrds. Var-Flame Primers . I used T7 (blue) patches and a dry patch between shots. I got some real good groups from a couple of loads. Ran out of bullets and time to verify the best loads. I’ll post some accuracy or targets info when I get more time.

RE: Chrony data from yesterday. Mostly PR Bullets
My goal is to hit a 4"circle at 200 yrds., first shot field conditions. Most of my muzzle loading hunting is open field and mostlydoes. I have a couple of groups that will work I think. It was interesting that the double sabots slowed down the bullet. I assume because of the extra sabot. I am trying to figure the best way to post and organize the targets. I have dial-up Internet. What is the best way to put a table in? I tried a couple different ways but the table got messed up when I preview it. I am still think about a .45 but I called around different companies and it looks like they are scaling down on the .45’s.

I guess I am not quite so fancy - have not done a lot of 200 yard shooting but last summer I had the Remington 700ML out - for the specfic reason to shoot 200 yards. I was at an outside range in Elk River shooting up a draw with very light cross winds blowing from my left to the right. This target was shot with 110 grains of T7-2f, Remington 209-4 primer and a plain old Speer .452/250 grain Gold Dot. I was shooting off a portable bench and bags... Shooting a Remington SS 700ML with 26" barrel, 3x9x40 Bushnell Elite 3200 with a ballistic reticule. Unpredictable deer - while I was shooting and in between shots these two deer decide to go across the range and down to the stream on the left... they must have been really thirsty... ![]() |

Hmmm, if this can be done at 200 with open sights then someone should be able to post a 2.5" group at 200 with a scope...or better.
..and yes, the range has been lazered. Let's see those pictures. Hawken 50 w/GM 1:28 90 RS 200 xtp 10mm 4 shot group 4.875" |

I have been looking at the Savage also. It is not legal in Michigan during ML season with smokeless powder.. There is still some debate on this and I htink there is a bill in the legislature to legalize. If it becomes legal I will get one.Haven't find any gun dealer in Southern Mich that has one. Gander Mountain said they will NOT carry them (liability?). I have a brandnew Remington 870 Express combo that Iwon and I think I am going to seel it and put the money towards a Savage or other ML.Don't really need another ML. I am just getting my Omega tuned, but it seems like it is fussier about bullets, likes the shorter bullets, which isnot as good for longer ranges.I should get the targets posted by Thursday. There was some interesting differences when I changed from Vari-Flame Primers to T7 primers.

I just bought a Green Mountain barrel for my FL, it came yesterday. However it is the short 21" carbine barrel. I am sure it will shoot 100 accurately with open sights. 1:28 twist. |
