KRB7 Range Report

Well was itchy to try my new KRB so I braved the cold temps of 13 degrees this A.M and hit the range. Things started badly as I unloaded the truck and realize I left my MZ box with all my primers tools and new conicals in my garage.Determined to shoot I headed to Gander Mt and Dicks which wasn't to far from the range.Picked up some primers(777) patches, short starter,Hornady 385 gr GPB as that was the only weight they had.Headed back to the range which to no suprise I had all to myself.I shot 6 shots with the 385 GPB and 4 shots with some 338 platnium PB's was pretty cold and I wasted time with the back and forth to the store so I only shot those shots at 50 yds. 385 gr GPB with 80 gr. 2F 777 and the 338 PB's with 95 gr 2F 777(those didn't shoot so great ,think'in maybe too hot of a load)Any ways I very please to say the least, looks like if things continue on this track the KRB will be acompanying me to Co. for elk in Sept. Here are the results....

Shoot that is a great start!

Keep on shooting...

What do you plan to shoot from your KRB conicals or sabots????

WOW!!! those Great Plains look like they have some real accuracy to them. Even the powerbelts did not do all that bad if you take into consideration the age of the rifle, the temperature, the fact you were not even planning them, and guessed at the load. On the powerbelts you might want to drop the powder charge and see what happens, but that rifle looks like a real shooter to me... nice shooting there.

What sight picture were you holding? Most of them rifles come pre-aimed for 100 yards (I think) so I am kind of surprised that it shot as low as it did...

They might be pre-sighted, but maybe with lighter bullets. Mine started out low too, in fact, pretty close to the same location as Dvde...'s. Pumpkin-on-a-post sight picture.

Planing on shooting conicals,GPB(385,410,460) or 460 gr No Excuses which are on the way.Shot with a scope today Leupold VX II 4x12 because thats what I had free to mount.Once my load is set off it goes and more than likely will run a Williams peep and the factory front fiber optic.

I shoot the Bull Shop 460 grain, think the No Excuse and the Bull Shop is from the same mold but lubes are different. They really are good shooters. They really amaze me how accurate they are. I am shooting them for a couple GM-LRH barrels and even from my 1/48 Renegade barrel. Awesome

Nice shooting. I've shot the 410 gr. GP's in my KRB with good results. It seems to like 90-95 gr. of 777 pretty well with that bullet.

95 grains Triple 7 is to hot. Drop it down to 80 grains with those 338's and see how it does.

From all the reports it sounds like those KRBs are some good conical shooters!!

FG-I shot some 338grs out of my renegade with 70gr of goexff and they shot very good. Open sights at 50 yds was about an inch 3 shot group.
