Opinions of Cabelas Pine Ridge 2 x 7 scopes?

Was thinking of grabbing a 2nd inline on sale to complement my Omega. They basically add the scope, rings and mounts for $60 to their rifles. Are these pretty good setups?

Some people have very good luck with the Pine Ridge Scopes. All you could do is get the rifle and try it out. If it does not work, at least Cabela's will take the scope back and you could replace it with something like a Bushnell Dusk to Dawn.

Watch the Cabela's made in China scopes. Recently bought one that was total trash. It went back along with the made in China electronic ear protectors and the feeder that did not work.

At the risk of offending the Pine Cone (Ridge) loving crowd...

For the $60 you will be certainly getting what you are paying for= POS that is guaranteed to fail at the worst possible moment, when you need it to work. Keep in mind that $60inludes: base, rings, mounting and bore sighting. So the scope itselfis worth about $20 or truly a Pine Cone.
Cabela's throws on an el-cheapo scope to help push sales and improve their margins.

Please save your hard earned $, hunt open sights until you canget the best optics, mountand ringsyou can afford. Expect to spend about $30-40 for good quality base and rings (Leupold QR are excellent).

And I personnally don't consider much of a scope for under $150/retail. They can be had from time to time. Look to Leupold VX-1, Nikon Prostaff, Burris Fullfield II. There are others as well.

Also,a used Leupold is always a great investment as the scope has the lifetime warranty reagardless of how many times it's changed hands. Fish on ebay for used Leupolds. An M8 4x would be a great scope setup. Just recently put one on for a buddy's son's Knight Wolverine.
