If it was an upper leg shot there would have been blood on the bushes along side the trail. And the blood would not be directly under the deer, the blood would be out to the side of the tracks. He said the blood was under the tracks. Blood could not go that far that fast. My guess would be low in the brisket, or in the back of the leg. Tom.

i know how you feel it has happened to me also ...i don't recall how many i have shot [63 years old] but i shure remember the deer that i have lost
