Accuracy for an Optima Pro
 

I was wondering how accurate these are and what everyone thinks of theirs. I have a chance to take one on trade and I have never owned a CVA before. I know my T/C will cloverleaf consistantly at 100yards with its preferred load. Should I able to expect the same?

That is really a hard question to answer. All rifles I own are a mystery to themselves. I have identical rifles in make, caliber, twist, etc.. and no two of them shoot alike or identical. I am guessing that once you find the right load you would have a good shooting rifle. Whether it will cloverleaf like your Thompson Centers only range time will tell. Ask your self this question.. if the rifle clover leafed, why would the prior owner want to trade it in on something?

I own a number of CVA rifles. While none of them cloverleaf at 100 yards, they are all good shooters. But for the record, I seldom clover leaf with any of my rifles at that distance. I am one of them people that always seem to get a flier... :D

unfortunately I don't know what this particular one will do. It is currently unfired. it's the thumbhole camo/nickel. I have a dog box the guy is getting off of me and mentioned tradin the CVA on it. I love my T/C to death which btw, cayugod I thank you for your input on my T/C purchase last year it was definately a good choice. Big reason I like the CVA thought is this season I was rained/snowed on including a few thunderstorms during 2/3rds of my hunts and after season about every screw/bolt was rusted solid in my blued T/C so I need an all weather smokepole.

I have owned2 CVA's over the past 10 years (Staghorn and Wolf)and loved them both... my dad shoots a cva optima and loves that...our buddy we hunt with also shoots a CVA and likes his gun ALOT....and to be 120% honest i live in Michigan and everyone knows how weather is here and i have never had any issues with either of mine out hunting and have never had a misfire even in the worst of conditions.usually once you get them sighted in CVA's are accurate as heck! I would for sureget it if it were me but thats just my opinion. :D

Just my opinion I own an Optima Pro and love it the gun is very accurate a breeze to clean and have never had a problem.My dad has one aswell and he would never get rid of it.

I have an optima pro that shoots pretty good but not clover leafs every time. I shoot .451 Nosler HPs with a MMP 24 sabot and 100 grains of T-7 loose.

well I got'r. I ended up trading a Winchester 120 12g for it instead of the box. I think I'm gonna send it off and get the whole thing dipped in realtree AP. Now I just gotta go scope shoppin. And this one has one *very* crisp light trigger.
