Just got to ask.
I consider Kare the voice of reason in our family. If I want some thing new/different in the way of a muzzle loader, scope or any huntingwhat not I don't have to sneek out and buy it. Usally if Iexplain the reason to her, it is a go. She has bought me a rifle because she heard me telling a friend I wanted such and such caliber and saw one with beautiful wood so bought it for me. She bugged the ickens out of me when i looked at a usedcustom Remington 700 in 300 mag till I went back and bought it.
She allows me to take off for deer camp for 2 weeks, where I have been hunting alone in over 6 square miles for several years now, with out complaint or orders to call every other day. So how is yor wife/lady friend when it comes to buying new stuff or going hunting? Also would you itch to the whole forum what a itch she is if she reins you in? There is a reason that I ask. :) Al |

Actually Terry is more than understanding... and i would say my situation is much as you have described. I know she doesn't like it when i hunt alone but she handles it as lomg as she knows where i am at. And I certainly have more work toys than I need.... |
RE: Just got to ask.
Ditto. As long as I'm bringing home some deer meat now and then, I'm fine. Mine always helps figure out a way for me to acquire my needed hunting equipment even when it's a little tight around the house. When I first got my ML, I was wavering on whether to buy it or not. She said, buy it, you'll have a chance to get more deer. What a woman!
If she were to try to reign me in I don't know exactly what I would do. I would be more likely to complain to those that I hunt with more than I would on the forum. But, that's just me. Chances are we'd have a war of words and get things straigtened out. I am usually at some fault when she comes unglued. More than likely I would be neglecting things around the house and using my free time to get ready to hunt. She's pretty good at bringing me around, lol. In the end, we both end up getting what we want. Good luck! Greg |

I guess we are just the lucky ones, But my situation is a little differant because my WIFE also hunts with me and she understands the needs and wants that I have . I have bought 4 New Knight rifles this year , not that I needed them but I wanted them so I could get rid of some of my other guns. ower type of wives are a dying breed as far as I'm conserned, God has blessed us with this type of wives. |
RE: Just got to ask.
The dog (named.. Number Seven) never says squat. Although he does squat quite often himself, but is kind enough to leave the yard and enter the woods to do so. He lets me do, sayand buy what ever I want without question. A new rifle to the house is thrilling actually to him. He never complains when I leave for days at a time, if I am willing to take him along. All he demands is a pat on the head, a kind word from time to time, a full water dish, some dog food and table scraps, and for me to allow him to go outside when he feels the need.
All joking aside, IF I had spouse, there are considerations and consolations that must be made to make both parties equal. A give and take so to speak. Just make sure one does not do all the giving and the other the taking. Believe me on this point. Also in the words of a commercial that I hate.. "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.." |

My wife just thinks I'm nutz. :D Fancy that!
OK, really she's a great gal and is very understanding. She never objects at all when I decide tobuy something... but has rolled her eyes about a couple of purchases (when she looked at them). I do think she would like for me to buy more clothes. |

RE: Just got to ask.
:DWhy Yes Kare does have an unmarried sister with out a boy friend either. Never been married either.
;)Personally I would do like Dave a get a dog instead. She is a bit more than I can put up with at times and Kare knows when any visit should end. :)Al |
RE: Just got to ask.
Married to the most even-tempered woman that ever lived!
(Stays mad all the time ) Makes it easy, if I want it I buy it and never have to worry about her getting mad - she already is! |
