Congrats on the great buck. Got to try that bullet. It is the only muzzleloader bullet i have ever seen that looks like a real rifle bullet.

Awesome shooting. I shoot the 250gr out of my 50 cal and they offer some great results. I never have found the bullets after as I get complete pass throughs. If I were you, since that buckhas lost his sheds and had a limp, I would search the area where you took him and who knows you may find the shed(s). The crushed hoof is interesting and how that was done. Are there any rocks or canyons where you hunt? Maybe it got hurt jumping and landing in that area. I would look there if you don't find anything where you took him.

If you ever seen the movie "Good Morning Vietnam" Robin Williams and his friend are in the jungle and his friend has a limp that keeps pulling them in circles. This may be true to some effect but you never know.

A hurt deer doesn't travel far. Thanks for the post

Excellent deer. MUCH MEAT!

Ibought six boxes of the 50 caliber 45-300 SSTs for $1.88 a box about six months ago. They're still sitting in my range box unshot. I just didn't want the Gold Dots to get jealous. Guess I'll have to sneak out and give them a try.
