lead balls
hi guys,
new to muzzleloading dont know much about it. I just bought a cva wolf and i was wondering if it possible to shoot lead balls out of the gun or is it just sabots. thanks for the help |
RE: lead balls
Any rifle CAN shoot roundball out of it. The question is, will it do it in an accurate manner. The CVA Wolf has a 1:28 twist. The fast twist is more incline to shooting sabots, powerbelt type projectiles, and even conical. Although, a lot of fast twist barrels will shoot patched roundball with a light powder charge. If you want to hunt deer, try a sabot or powerbelt.

RE: lead balls
sabots or conicals.
PRB will work but you'd have to use a 40 to 50 grain powder charge and that would only be good for short range deer. I'd say under 50 yards with a 50 grain charge. |
