What are you all using for bench rests.
mechanical (what brands)
bean bags .
what works for you

Ever since my shooting table fell down ive had to use either logs stacked up or use the side of a tree/ tree branch. Not the best, but its what i use when hunting so its best to practice off that. Of course you want to use the best steady rest thats available when sighting in a gun for the first time. So i'll stack up a big log thats flat and put my walmart $28 rifle rest on it:D Gotta make do with what you have.

I generally use a harris bipod and good leather rear bag with the ears that hold the buttstock. The bipod is light and portable (I've got enough heavy junk that I already haul to the range), and I've been able to shoot many remarkable groups off a bipod. I've heard people say that a bipod can shift your POI compared to sandbags or a machine rest, but I have not experienced that at all.

I bought this from MidSouth Shooter Supply when they were on sale for $29.00 I think it was. I know it was not too expensive. And it has been working excellent for me. Another thing I shoot off of is shooting sticks.

I use a folding table and several sand bags. One is an old lead shot bag filled with sand. The other 2 are leather and filled with sand. Any additional heigth i use old phone books under sand bags.

Got this for Christmas last year. Shooters Ridge from Cabelas, I believe they run $90-$100. The picture was taken at the Sportsman Club I belong to.

I built the booger bench from plans on the net and waste OSB from a building site I asked for. $20.00 folding table legs from Lowe's.
I built the rest out of 2x4 and 1 1/2x 1 1/2 stock as a protype for one I was going to build from steel when the iron pile thawed out a couple springs ago. The wood one worked better than I expected so I never did attemp to build a heavy steel one.
